Day 3 of Solyent Sammn

Well, I didn't manage to drink half of yesterday. I wasn't as thirsty, still carb hungry, tummy did some weird stuff... When I got to go, I got to GO! LOL

I'm gonna drink the remainder today, but there are alot of Chia seeds in there - DAMN. I hate them! No more or only ground. They do sell them pre-ground, I will go that way next time. Oh and the mix is supposed to be ok for 2 days (or a least the normal Solyent you can purchase is ok for 2 days).

I also think the near 1 gallon of fluid has been both helpful & a pain (in the bladder). Damn.... pee much? But yeah - made some blueberry roobus & yerba mate tea sweetened w/ whipped honey. Nice :)

For S & G, I got on the scale. I went to the doctor last Friday (plus weighed myself before I went to see how accurate my scale is - it's very close) I was at 261.7 lbs Friday. This morning, 257.1 lbs! OMGee..... I am not recording this yet, not until I see if this is real or what.

So the next mix will have no flour (gritty), no chia seeds (or rather 5g of ground) and 1 serving (34g) less of protein powder (maybe). I would add masa powder, but I have issues with corn (my stomach doesn't like it one damn bit), so if I end up striking the chia seeds, I may have to suffer through the gritty coconut flour.

Day 2 of Solyent Sammn

Ok, well I didn't finish the whole mess, got about 3/4'ers of it in during work. Had a nice dinner but was muchie (carb hungry) later & had some cake. And I found out it made me thirsty - i got in nearly 1.2 gallons of water in yesterday and was still thirsty when I went to bed.

This morning I realized I forgot to clean the large blender for the Ninja system, so I put everything in the Tayeka bottle w/ a Blender Ball. It mixed up well, but the seeds are more whole than yesterday's mix. I either need to grind them with my mortar & pedestal or leave them out. Yuck... 3 more days of them.

Also found out this stuff is crazy high in fiber - you poop ALOT. LOL ! And it's smelly, but I have a bottle of Poopourri that I snuck into work - :} it works.

Today with the whole seeds, it is a little harder to get down, but not bad. I just try to drink it as fast as I can before the glass gets warm. It HAS to be cold to tolerate.

I've been thinking, if I keep at this, I will be able to tweak the taste some - less cacao powder and different flavored protein powder. I think next time I will get ON's Banana Cream - that is a great flavor to start with, with some chocolate - YUM!

Sammn's Solyent day 1

Well,  this will be the official first day of my solyent 2/3rd. Still having troubles with the chia seeds & the coconut floor. I have already made the workweek days (stored in 1qt mason jars) otherwise I would tweak the mix again. But I will for next week... Less chia & no coconut flour,  plus made from back the protein powder some.

Solyent Sammn

LOL - yes, you read that right. Solyent Sammn... and no it's not made from freshly ground Sammn's (there aren't that many of us out there). Rather it's my food replacement DIY mix based from the offical Soylent blend. And this is not a WHOLE day replacement, rather my breakfast & lunch for the work week. I don't think I can just drop real food 100% right now, especialy since Le Hubs will still want dinner.

Everything you need is ( here ) if you want to read up on it. The DIY forum is  here ].

This is my reciep - Sammniam (F) 2/3 day - WL/Keto (values in RED I want to adjust)

Calories = 999, Servings = 2 (22% Carb, 35% Protein, 43% Fat{need to adjust this}
Total Carb = 62g, Dietary Fiber = 35g
Protein = 100g
Total Fat = 55g, Sat = 26g, Poly = 2g, Mono = 10g, Omega-3 = 4g, Omega-6 = 1g
Cholesterol = 108mg

It's a chocolate cinnamon mix, not too strong, but thin & gritty. Plus, those chia seeds... OMG, I need to grind those into powder. Next time I buy powder, but for now I need to figure out how to grind them. I'm thinking coffee grinder. Plus, I need a better scale, I have a  "ONYX Digital Kitchen Scale" and it's not that great. This is the replacement they sent, because the first one failed 2 months after I got.

I use my Ninja blender to mix this up, I'm storing it in a VacuCraft contain (air-tight) until my Takeya bottles come in (2qt size).

When I tweak my mix, I'll repost the new version & report on how it tastes.

Yes, it's been a long time, but life gets in the way

Yeap - it's me.

And yes, life gets in the damn way. Between work, stress about work, my hubs getting sick, hosptial bills, my own injuries and more.... life has been sh@t.

*sigh*

But in other bad news - I've regained weight. I'm very sad, but I'm working on it. Doctor appt next week - let's hope I can figure out a few things (and if you understood I hate doctors). I'm trying to get back to the gym (Anytime Fitness) as well as get a front brake for my cruiser bike.

In other related fitness type news - I recently got my Fitbit Flex replaced by Fitbit. I purchased one in Feb of 2014 and it was going great until the last month or so, it started acting up charging. It got real hard to get the tracker to charge - I cleaned the contacts, cleaned the charger, tried different computers & USB chargers, and reset the unit SEVERAL times. Finally, it wouldn't charge anymore :(

Contacted Fitbit, went back and forth a few emails, then they sent me a new one :) Few days later, got the replacement (dropped off the old one @ Best Buy for electronic recycling) and all is well in my FitBit world again :}

In more news - Endomondo (cell tracker app) released a SMARTWATCH app for my Samsung Gear 2 Neo. Why should we care? Well, with this app - it syncs to the phone and pulls data from the watch. What data? Heart Rate data & pedometer data = both are functions of the Gear 2 Neo watch. Sweet :}

There are a few issues - you have to use the FREE version of the app rather than the PRO version (which cost me 4.99) and it pulls ALL the pedometer data. I have my watch set to sync it's data to the phone's S Fitness every day @ midnight, so on Endo a entry shows up for a strange reading = 3.7 miles in 5-7 hours. Threw me for a loop until I figured what was going on. Last weird thing - first day, the data went to MFP, second day, it wouldn't. So, I have to add it to MFP or let Fitbit do it's thing. LOL.... so close, so close.

Ok, few more things - On Kickstarter I found something called Lumafit. It's a tracker that hangs on your ear, clips on the lobe and pulls data, syncing to several cell apps. Of course I backed it, delivery is supposed to be sometime late this year. I went with this over several over trackers on Kickstarter because it leaves the ear free for your own earphones.

And speaking of earphones, another Kickstarter I backed was Ownphones. 3D printed custom earphones. YEAH.... :} These I can't wait for. They aren't a tracker (like other Kickstarters) but they will be designed to FIT YOUR EARS! No guessing what size you need, fighting to keep them in (which I always do) and they can be made in tons of different configurations & w/ or w/out an LED. These are gonna be killer!

Ok, last thing.... Ever heard of Solyent Green? Well, someone has made modern (non-human) Solyent replacement food. Not only that, he's made a whole forum so people can make their own versions. I've made my own recepie - I've ordered all the materials and I'm looking for an air-tight storage container. I'm planning on making mine for work, breakfast & lunch only, keto (low-card) and for weight loss. I'll do up a separate post with more information soon.

Goodbye Planet Fitness, hello Anytime Fitness

Well, I made the jump. I signed up @ Anytime Fitness and canceled Planet Fitness. AT had a $14 sign-up sale going on and I visited the location 5 min from my house.

OMG O_O.... the weight section wasn't large, but had EVERYTHING I have wanted from the beginning. So I signed up right there & then. Costs about twice what I was paying @ PF, but there are several perks that out weigh the price difference:

  1. It's 5 min from my house! No more driving to the next city to find a less crowded gym. I can go home from work, change, feed the kitty (pick up packages / mail) and then hit the gym.
  2. The free weight section is GREAT! Full Squat rack, true Bench Press machine, lots of BB & DD's.
  3. They offer Kickboxing, Zumba & Yoga classes - INCLUDED! No extra cost. Need to find out how to sign up.
  4. I get 2 PT sessions - 1 hour long to start, then a follow up 30min session. Then I can pay for additional. Will have to see.
  5. I can take a guest, it's $5 per visit, but at least I can.
  6. They have online tools - I went up there and set up my week of workouts. It already emailed me tomorrow's line-up and said something about it will log the workout when I tag into the location. WOOT! I'm not sure if that feature is part of the included (it has a 30 day trail) or I'll have to pay. Need to look into that.
So hopefully things will improve - yes, I will miss a week of gym at the end of the month because of work, but still. And next month is gonna be stressful & busy, but I am trying. Oh dear Lords/Ladies, I am trying.

PS: I've emailed the PT group for an appt to get instruction in correct form on my lifting. I want to make sure my Squats, Deadlifts and such not are being done correctly. Form is more important than HOW much and HOW many reps.

My measurements - 1/9/2014

Chest: 49.4" (40DD)
Bicep: 15.4"
Thigh: 27.1"
Waist: 44.5" (16/18 depending on cut)
Calf: 18"
Hips: 50"
Neck: 16"
Wrist: 6.5"
Forearm: 11"

236.1 pounds
37 female, 5'5" (65")
Moderate Activity = 3-5 days a week exercise, 60+ min
Desk job
-------------------------------------------------------------
From Scooby's Workshop

BMR = 1808
TDEE = 2802
-20% = 2242

These numbers mean I don't eat back exercise cals - the MAX i eat a day is 2242 no matter the exercise burn (unless the burn is over 550-600 cals, then on those days I can re-eat the amount over).
-------------------------------------------------------------
From Fat 2 Fit Radio

Body Fat % = 34.6
BMI = 39.3

BMR (Harris Benedict) = 1814
BMR (Katch-McArdle) = 1882

Daily calories based on 2nd number (more accurate) and @ Mod Active = 2365

This number is similar to the above, don't eat back exercise calories unless over the 550-600 level.
-------------------------------------------------------------
So based on this, i went into MFP and adjusted my GOALS =

Lose 1 lb a week @ light activity = consume 1960 w/ 4 x 60min exercise a week

On BodyMedia's site, I set up @ mod active, 500 cal deficit (1 lb a week) =
2800 burn, 2390 consume @ 30min moderate & 15 vig + 8000 steps min

SO.... we'll see if I can get me arse back on track. I've now officially re-gained 21 pounds.

This depresses me and really wants me to do bad things, but I shall try to NOT go that route and stay on the healthy wagon.
